The RSL works in the Public Outreach and Information Literacy Services (POILS) Unit of Trexler Library and holds the primary responsibility for public reference service management (including desk scheduling, development of new reference services, etc.). The position has direct responsibility for student worker management, statistical reporting, and overall reference service planning in cooperation with Unit colleagues. The RSL also serves as the assigned subject specialist to departments in the Sciences division, conducting library instruction, outreach, student research assistance, and partnered development with the faculty in the discipline.
